Basic Sewing

Our long-term objective is that students will go on to start entrepreneurial enterprises possibly creating employment for others or find workplace opportunities.
Modules covered include:
- Control & threading of plain machine and over-locker
- Industrial machines are used as per industry standards
- Sample portfolio
- Constructing a range of items
- LtE Business Essentials Course - Khayelitsha only

Students are taught a range of sewing skills using both industrial and domestic sewing machines and overlockers. At the end of the course, graduates will have a range of sample garments as well as a workbook/portfolio of skills learnt.

| Entry Requirements: | Basic literacy and numeracy assessment, course participants will need to daily access have a domestic sewing machine at home. |

| Cost to student: | Khayelitsha: R900 (R300 registration fee + R600 course fee) Hermanus: R750 (R300 registration fee + R450 course fee) |
