Learn to Earn's Training Philosophy
Learn to Earn's skills development programmes are established on the study of the far reaching & broader consequences of apartheid.
Through a holistic approach to development we look at the whole person - spiritually, emotionally, socially and economically - so as to purposefully put right the injustices of apartheid. As an organisation we focus on relationships and practically bridging the educational, social and economic divides in our society.
Our organisational culture is to rebuild the self-esteem, dignity and self-respect of all we come into contact with. We achieve this through a programme that offers practical and market related training in relevant skills combined with life skills, business skills and discipleship training. This is based on community analysis and market analysis research conducted by Learn to Earn.
Our course waiting lists and number of graduates who are able to earn an income after graduating confirm the success of our programmes.
The method used to develop unemployed people is seen in the 'a hand up – not a hand out' viewpoint of Learn to Earn. By paying a part of their training fees, students become contributing partners in their own development and have a greater sense of ownership in the change of their circumstances.
